Birth Plan

This is the birth plan i came up with. I brought it in and had my midwife look over it and she said everything looked good. She even signed it!

Birth Plan

Birthing Plan for: Jenine Simerson & Jordan Simerson

Who I’d like with me during labor: Jordan Simerson and Ginny Rutledge (family is okay as long as I okay it)

Who I’d like to stay for my baby’s birth: Jordan Simerson and Ginny Rutledge

DURING LABOR
I would like to have an all-natural birth with no interventions unless it is medically necessary.
1.     I would like to bring of food and drink
2.     I would like to bring books, music and other things as diversions.
3.     For any discomfort I’d like to:
Water therapy, shower, or tub
Coaching with breathing and relaxation
Massage
Birthing Ball
4.     I don’t want an IV unless it is medically necessary
5.     I don’t want my labor put on a time limit.
6.     If my water needs breaking, I would like it to be:
When I am past five centimeters dilated
After my baby’s head is well engaged
7.     I’d like to be vaginally examined
When I am admitted
Before any pain meds
When I feel like pushing
When I ask for it

DURING MY BABY’S BIRTH
1.     While I am pushing I’d like heat and/or oil applied to my perineum.
2.     I don’t want an episiotomy before my baby is born. I would rather have a slow birth and take my chances.
3.     I don’t want Lidocaine injected into my perineum for suturing after my baby is born.
4.     I don’t want Lidocaine injected into my perineum if I tear or need an episiotomy.
5.     I’d like to try alternative positions for pushing:
Squatting
Squatting Bar
Hands and Knees
Side Lying
And Others
6.     If my baby needs assistance being born I want a vacuum extraction rather than forceps
7.     I care if the cord stops pulsating before it’s cut.
8.     I do not want Pitocin to expel my placenta.

AFTER I HAVE THE BABY
1.     I want my baby put directly on me after delivered.
2.     I want to breastfeed my baby. NO FORMULA
3.     I DO NOT want my baby offered a bottle.
4.     I want all of my baby’s procedures done in my room and my baby kept with me at all times.
5.     If I cannot go myself, I want my baby accompanied by my husband or birth partner during any procedures.

CESAREAN SECTION CONSIDERATIONS
1.     I want my husband and/or birth professional with me during the operation.
2.     I want to discuss anesthetic options with my anesthesiologist.
3.     I want my baby returned to my room (rather than the nursery) with my husband while I am in recovery.
4.     I don’t want my baby taken to the nursery while I sleep (I will provide someone for care).

It's the night before Thanksgiving and I am sitting in the nursery. The dirty house and cooking can wait until tomorrow. My due date is in 3 weeks and 5 days. LESS THAN 4 WEEKS. The holidays on top of having a baby is very stressful..so much to do in so little time.

I have been washing, sorting, resorting, and storing clothes for days now...and I still have to resort some stuff. LOL

I ordered my diaper bag! I never thought I would pay this much for a diaper bag...but I did. I really like it and hope that it meets all my expectations!

******
Major stuff left to do in the nursery:

-Curtains for the closet
-Paint and hang shelf
-Hang mirror
-Decorate lamp
- Changing Pad and covers

I know there has got to be more!

*******

My baby shower was awesome! My friend Ginny threw it for me and she did such a great job!

The food was amazing. A grits bar (bacon, cheese, and shrimp), pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin pie, raspberries with chocolate chips in them, fruit pizzas, veggies and cheese, turkey sandwiches, chips and dip, pimento cheese handmade by Ursula, sweet tea, and lemon water. And Ginny made these awesome favors!

(i hope i didn't forget anything) It was sooo delicious!
I got some really great gifts as well! Thank you all who came (and those who couldn't but sent us stuff)! It means SO much to me! <3 <3 <3
And a big thanks to GINNY. I LOVE YOU!!!

********

my brain is all over the place. sorry.

I went to my appointment today and talked with my midwife some more. She is so awesome! We went over my Birth Plan and all was okay..she even signed it! Her guesstimate of how big baby girl is right now was a little over 6 pounds!!! She said she will probably be close to 8 pounds! EEEK!

I am so ready to meet this little girl! I hope that as soon as I see her sweet little face I will know her name.

My bed is calling. Sweet Dreams!

weekend getaway

We had a wonderful three day weekend up in Blairsville, Ga! We rented a cabin for two nights and had our friends Jennifer and Jason (and their daughter) join us. We went to Helen for the Octoberfest, which was a BUST. Not family friendly at all. But if you are kidless and want to get drunk on beer..go for it. We stopped to eat at a place that seemed pretty decent..it wasn't full of drunk people...turns out that they don't sell beer or alcohol there. we sat outside so the kids could play in the grass, which was a good idea because everything took forever! the lady that owns the restaurant was doing everything but the cooking!

On sunday Jordan, Oliver and myself went to Mercier Orchards to pick apples. It was a lot of fun! A tractor pulled us to the apples and we spent lots of time picking! I have no idea what i am going to do with so many apples!

He rolled the pumpkin all the way to me! and its not even the one we took home. LOL
Pretending to be an apple tree!

When we got back to the cabin we went to Anna Ruby Falls with Jennifer and Jason! What a hike! But it was beautiful.
These are gorgeous mountains! A LOT different than the Rockies!  The colors were just beautiful! I am so glad I got to see some color. (boo middle Ga!)

cheerio bird treats

piggy bank

Olivers piggy bank was getting pretty heavy so I decided to dump it all out and count it. Of course he was right there to "help" me. We worked on learning which coin is which. He did really well! He helped me sort them into piles and helped count it.

There was
$51 in quarters
$3 in bills
$26 in dimes
$9 in nickles
$6 in pennies
so a total of 95.85!
